Official Paint Color
In all the years that I have known my truck I have never known the actual official name of the shade of blue that my truck is. Here is a picture of a tag that is on the cowl/fire wall under the hood. Is this a paint code? If so, how do I decipher this code?

Re: Official Paint Color
That tag is not the paint code. Your truck might be Medium Blue Super Enamel. I think your truck was a White Hat Special if I remember correctly. That was a special paint that was only available on that package. Your truck looks too light to be Marlin Blue and too dark to be Arctic Blue.

is the paint code on these trucks anywhere?

No... the Sweptlines did NOT use a color code ON the truck. The trucks did have their own colors that were not shared with the cars.abodyjoe wrote:is the paint code on these trucks anywhere?

Here are a couple of fairly recent pictures of my truck. That is all original paint.

Nice BLUE on your truck!!
I think I had heard (here on Sweptline.org) that it had something to do with an "order" number?? or something like that. Not sure if it has ever been "confirmed" though.DocsTruck wrote:By the way, what is that tag anyway?

soopernaut wrote:The tag on the firewall has a number that matches a number on the build sheet. There should also be a tag on the front of the bed with a different number. Since most of these trucks never had this tag, I've concluded the trucks that have them were customer ordered and the ones that don't were dealer stock.
