can i temporarily bypass and connect those two wires? would a problem inside, keep the van from starting? and if i need it, do i just ask for a ''universal'' voltage regulator at autozone? (its not factory stock i assume)

If you bypass it you'll prolly blow the light bulbs out and may damage something. They are cheap just go to kraigen and get a new one.
