Name That Hub Cap

While having the stock wheels from my '63 Ute stripped and painted, I took some time to clean up and straighten my hub caps. This is a before and after shot with two mostly done and the other two not yet started. I've looked at about every Dodge hub cap I could find around here, on eBay and elsewhere, and have not seen anything quite like these. Anybody have an idea where/when these might have come from?

Hard to say for sure but probably late 1950s. Probably aftermarket. "Bling" was really popular back then too. Those ought to look really good cleaned up. Hell, they don't look bad now for that matter.

Ah, good call. That's gotta be close if not right on. Armed with that info, I found a set of '63 Belvedere caps on eBay that look very similar but without the outer ring of circles. I also found a single cap that is identical, but the listing had no specific date. I haven't yet found pics of Plymouth poverty caps from '62. Stumbled on this in my search, though:

Thanks for the links. Seems pretty much everyone is identifying them as early 60s Plymouth Belvedere/Savoy. Kind of makes me wonder if the dealer who sold this truck swapped caps for fun, or if the factory itself played a little fast and loose with hubcaps for different models/divisions based on availability or other factors.

But I suppose it's just as likely the original owner went looking for anything that would fit at some point after banging up the originals.

My 49 truck is sporting a full wheel cover, wire spoke, all stainless. Center cap says Landau (spelling). Don't know what it is off but wish I had 3 more of them. Looks better than the stock baby moons (which only fit 30s-50s Mopar wheels with spring clip centers).

If they look good, they look good. Who cares what they are "supposed" to look like.

1960 Plymouth Valient. The same style probably would have come on other Mopars, but definitely did come on the early sixties Valients. Google "1960 Valient" for pics.
