New Mini-starter installed "with" NP435 Trans

I posted a video of it starting on Youtube

I'll take another this weekend that shows it starting and then under the hood.

I am stoked on this starter. I used to hate making a bunch of stops because my 3 bolt starter solenoid would heat up and crank slow. So far, this one is all good after driving around town and making a few stops.

here is the thread where I posted my original problem:

How does that starter bolt up to the tranny? Does it go on at the PTO door?

Nice. I have one of those on the NP435 in my '84 and it works awesome. Cranks over fast and hard even when it's -20 out, or even if you've been working the truck hard hauling a full load of trees up out of the woods at low speed and it's hot. Worth the $$ for the upgrade, for sure.

Hey Terry, the mini starter is adapted to a machined body that goes into the existing starter hole. YOu use 2 of the 3 bolts that the old starter uses and leave 1 out which is partially covered by the starter body. :salut

That's cool. i used a 1989 dakota 5.2 starter on my 400 several years ago. Its really nice. don't have to pull header now.
Direct bolt on.

Well, the title says the starter is installed "on NP435 Trans", but the existing starter hole is on the bell. So, how did u install the starter on the trans?
