Turn Signal indicaters

Post by JG69Adventurer »

Trying to find out what years had the turn signal indicators in the hood. My 69 Adventurer has them, but I don't see them in all 69 models or any other years.

Just wondering. :)

A local 61 that's for sale has them. They look to be factory.

Ya, 69 factory lights would look factory, but they were not installed by the factory in 61!

So it will need to be a 69 to71 Adventurer with the custom option. It doesn't appear that there are many of these around from what I see. From what I have learned there is no record as to how many were produced so we can only go by how many are left.

Is that right? :study

I pulled a number of parts from a high line 70/71 back in the early 80's. The hood emblem,Hood turn signals,
Cab 3 sided emblems, Fancy dash bezel and a bunch of other parts. They either ended up on my 70 W200 I had at the time or my 66 W100 I still have. That truck in auto wrecker is long gone. Don't remember what motor it had ,But it was an A/C truck.

1968 was the first year for the Adventurer Package and the hood indicators were not available in 1968. The hood directional indicators were standard on the Adventurer Package in 1969-71, it was not an option on any models. The only way you could get the hood indicators was to have the Adventurer Package.
The Adventurer Package and the Custom Package are different Packages and it was one or the other, they were not combined. The Delta hood emblem was also part of the 1969-71 Adventurer Package.

There are lots of trucks that don't match what is written above. I've seen many Adventurers over the years that do not have hood indicators and with original hoods. There also seems to be no rhyme or reason to which trucks had the hood emblem.

Well, that comes from the 1969 Dodge Sales brochure printed by Chrysler.
So, your guess is as good as mine :thinking
I just uploaded the full 1969 brochure on our site last night, so you can take a look.

This 71 base model Adventurer (mine) has no hood emblem, nor signal indicators:

I'll check my 70 and 71 brochure, I'm wondering if in 70-71 they did the indicators and hood delta only on the SE's? and not the base Adventurer.

I think this is a case where the brochures are wrong. The SE was 71 only and the lesser Adventurers of that year didn't have as many options.

70 lists them for the Adventurer but 71 doesn't list them at all, even on the SE.

No 71 Adventurer, SE or Base, in the registry has indicators on the hood.
May have been 69-70 only?

One of my five '71 Adventurers had the hood indicators. I need to sort through the pics and see, but I'm sure the '71 trucks had them as available.

Seems really strange that the (4) 71 SE's in the registry don't have them. :thinking

The brochures that Ma Mopar made for the upcoming year cars and trucks were printed months, if not a year before the next model year went into production. I have brochures and advertisements for Challengers and when I ordered mine in '71 some of the things in the brochure never existed or were never offered for the next model year. It's not a definitive way to tell what actually came on the cars and trucks as they ran out of parts (or were changed) and they used whatever what was available at the time. The assembly line didn't stop, even if they were out of a certain option someone ordered. It was in the fine print when you ordered a car or truck.
