Re: cbody
thanks. should be fun when the motor and tranny gets done. It may get the 3.91's from the 68.
Re: cbody
That's a pleasant surprise that it has an 8 3/4 axle in it. My Fury II hadflyinbrick68 wrote:thanks. should be fun when the motor and tranny gets done. It may get the 3.91's from the 68.
an 8 1/4 with moon gears [2.76s].

Re: cbody
I'm hoping to get the big ol beast into the 12's with a set of 3.91's when the 451 is done and dropped into place.
Re: cbody
Nope, the 8 1/4 doesn't have a removable pumpkin like the 8 3/4. They're easy to tell apart... from the rear, 8 3/4 will have a smooth housing, while the 8 1/4 has a bolted-on cover:flyinbrick68 wrote:I'll have to double check is the 8 1/4 a removable center section like the 8 3/4? i believe its got 3.23s in it.

14s@90s, too heavy for 12s or 13s, no matter what rear gears, unless NOX or blower.flyinbrick68 wrote:I'm hoping to get the big ol beast into the 12's with a set of 3.91's when the 451 is done and dropped into place.

Re: cbody
Got the rear jacked up spun the tires and counted revolutions on the diveshaft. I probably have 2.76's in it guess i shouldn't have trusted the guys word when i bought it when he said 8 3/4 rear with 3.23's. Well i guess itl make it easy to retrofit a sermt of disk brakes off the rear of a jeep grand cherokee though...;)

Re: cbody
Lol yeah wish it wasn't green really but hey what can ya do. Maybe with some luck the 451 will be free from the machine shop and i can get the tranny rebuilt. I hope she'll be one the road in a year or so. If all else fails... well out goes the 451 from the fury and into the 68 and the 383 from the 70 d100 goes into the fury and the fury goes bye bye to fund my 68 d100.
