Back and ready to rock

Post by Outlaw »

Hey, all. Some might remember me / some might not. I've been out of the game for a while. I recently moved from FL to WA and was forced to give up my Sweptline. It went to a good home though, my pops.

I'm settled in here in WA (missing FL weather) and looking for a decent truck. If anyone knows of one please let me know. I'm looking for a 65- D100, preferably drivable but not a must. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome back, it was a shame to see you have to let the white truck go. There is plenty to choose from up in WA. :Thumbsup

Try the Yakima Valley. There used to be a ton of them from Yakima to the Tri-cities. But, it has been over a year since I lived in Washington. If you don't mind going to the west side on your hunt there were several Swepts sitting parked in Seattle, Kent, Lynden and Mt Vernon. Check their respectives Craig's Lists. I bought mine in Graham in 2004 for under a grand, running and drivable with new tires, new RV cam and a freshly kitted trans.

There was a real decent looking '68 Fargo D100 long
wide box 318/A745 3spd in Kennewick recently if
you're not dead set on a '65 :idea :2cents That's
quite a move..... from FL to WA....

Yeah, that move was tremendous. I drove a Penskie truck, towing my car and my wife drove her truck towing my bike. It would've been to hard for me to bring my Sweptline all the way up here. My dad has it now and he is enjoying the hell out of it so its in a good place.

I'm not dead set on a '65, i just love that grill and round tail lights. I'll be happy with any D100 swb or stepside apache, i just prefer the older models. I've been craigslisting but haven't gotten lucky. I've been keeping my eyes open though.

That indicates u want anything from 62 - early 65. Those yrs all look the same. Mid yr 65 everything changed.
What is your budget, do u want a project or turnkey and how far will u travel?

I wasn't too sure on the exact years for that style grill & tail lights., thanks. I've got a tight budget - $1,500 give/take if i need to (hope i'm not dreaming to big). I prefer a turn key but i'd settle for something that needs some minor work to get running. i'm already assuming whatever i get will need new brakes, plugs, wires, etc. I'm just not wanting to dig into the engine. Thats my only real concern. I'm willing to travel a couple of hours but not too much farther than that.

You don't specify where on the east side... I remember there being tons of them around Pullman, Colfax, Dusty, Washtucna, etc when I was a student at WSU in the early 90s. Try cruising the main highway from Pullman to Othello, maybe even to Vantage. There were also a couple in Wenatchee and Cle Elum in the last couple years.

So this is what i found.

Some of them are kinda high in price and I would have to low ball them pretty badly.

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/2928600754.html - I'm also curious about this one and how "driveable" it really is

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/2931337617.html

http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/2861861468.html - liking this one, but worried about rust and starting from scratch.

So what do you guys thinks?

Get in contact with Gordo over in Kennewick. He's always turning up
Sweptlines over there and could probably set you up pretty quickly.
