Back in the Sweptline groove....

Post by cudajimmy »

Well it's been a LONG time since I was a regular around here, but I bought a 61 short wide bed today. Poly 318, push button automatic, and UGLY. Gonna fix her up to be a driver. I'll be looking for all the usual parts, so if someone sees a deal on anything, let me know.

She's rougher than a cob, but I'll get her looking respectable again in no time.

Looks like yellow. :dance

or maybe tan. :thinking

Either way, too bad about the black spray bomb. Would be nice to see it more original. Cool truck though, 61 poly/auto shortbed big back window is pretty high on my desirability chart!

Welcome back in the saddle. Other than the minor dent in the tailgate, how's the body? Wish my '61 was a poly/push. Keep us posted with a build thread. :Thumbsup

Jimmy, haven't seen Booker is probably four years now. I still have a couple of Swepties, both are '68 D100 LWB 318 auto trucks, both blue/white.

I chat with Booker from time to time on Facebook. He seems to be doing fine. His swepty had a tree fall on the cab and hood about 6 months or so ago. It put a few dents in it...

Welcome back Jimmy! :Thumbsup

Thanks Keith. Next time you talk to him tell him Beth and I have been wondering for awhile how he's doing. Sorry to hear about the tree.
