Re: Three on the tree "clanking"
Just a guess but my guess is a failing driveshaft carrier bearing.

Re: 360 heads
Pretty sure late 1980s 318 cylinder heads flow much better than the 70 heads. May want to research this.

Re: 360 heads
I won't go the 360 route. Your stock heads at the very least need some work done on them. 1970 heads didn't have the harden valve seats. The exhaust valves in your engine have to be well sunken into the head by now.

Re: Three on the tree help
Don't know if the 68 still used the hydraulic clutch but if so, sounds like the slave cylinder is failing. 3rd gear and higher than normal revs just about has to be a slipping clutch disc.

318 poly marine engine
Anyone know anything about this? There is one for sale on ebay not too far from me and I was thinking maybe I could use it someday as a spare engine.

Re: Rear brakes drag on 1967 D200
I'll try to explain what I think is the problem. The brake shoes are always at least slightly rubbing up against the drums. This generates heat. The heat also causes the brake fluid to expand. The MC is designed, when properly adjusted, to allow this expanded fluid to return to the reservoir. Becaus...

Re: Slant Six Oil Leak (unheard of, I know)
Damper may not work for you. Did a little searching and in 1976, Chrysler dropped the steel crank and went with a cast iron crankshaft. Because of this I wonder if the balancer also changed?

Re: WIW
I'm very interested. If nothing comes up I should be driving up to NE Ohio in a few weeks. The plan is to take a detour on the way home and I'll stop by. Will PM you when I have better dates.

Re: WIW
How do I find that out? Some kind of code on the trans? I was thinking ebay for the NOS mirror arm too. As for the tail lights, its just the lenses. I also have motor mounts, I was told one set was for a small block and one set for a big block, but they look the same to me... :thinking There is a c...

I have an interest in the transmission but need to know if it has the 4.26 low gear or the higher 6.something.

Re: Roadtrip Worthy
Thanks a lot for the input, I really appreciate it. I noticed a few people have updated their shocks to Rancho, has anyone ever tried the Monroe shocks? They look a little more stock to me but don't know much about the truck versions, I've used them in cars and tend to go with Rancho for trucks. I ...

For some reason I don't believe you can use the Lakewood bellhousing with the NP420.

Re: Sloppy steering
Does have an adjustment screw on the engine side of the box. Have to loosen the lock nut and then use a screwdriver. Been told when making the adjustment the wheels need to be off the ground. Also been told you can adjust the box too much which is bad because you can't "take out" adjustment. So, jus...

The upper spring pack (helper springs or overload springs) are indeed stock. I took a pair from a 69 years ago and installed in my 66.

Re: New user with some Town Wagon questions
My guess is the town wagon used the same frame as an 1/2 truck model. Also believe there is no difference in the D100 and D200 frame. I can gross 10.000 lbs in my D200 which has suspension modifications. Have to admit when the truck is grossly overloaded, I don't go very fast and allow plenty of bra...

Re: Slant six automatic question?
Pretty sure AMC used the 727 in its 4wd Eagle model somewhere in the 1970s/80s. Also, doesn't the small block and /6 use the same bellhousing pattern?
