Re: Slide hammer or pry bar?

Pull from the shallow areas to the deeper spots so you don't distort the sheet metal as much surrounding the area of the dent....if you didn't already know. A slide hammer comes in handy for a lot of things beside and aren't that expensive, but then so would a stud gun.

That is correct as Loctite only "dries" or "sets" in the absence of air (an anaerobic liquid).

Re: 1964 d-100 318 timing chain cover part number

Those new LA covers have the timing marks on the opposite side of the old poly 318s and older small blocks, if I remember correctly, but do work with the matching water pump.

Re: 1966 CSS oil pressure

The oil pressure on my 66 D100 w/318 V8 normally runs 55 psi when at operating temperature and say 1500 RPM. Recently it drops to 35psi for a couple seconds then pops back up to 55 psi with no change in RPM. This is an intermittent problem. The truck has the optional gauge package with tachometer. ...

Re: Oil Pump

Do oil pumps lose their ability to maintain oil pressure as they age? Do they slowly wear out and oil pressure drops as they get mileage on them or do they just fail? Does replacing an oil pump with a new one automatically increase oil pressure? Sometimes the pick-up screen gets plugged with gasket...

If you can get the old hinge pin out you can drill the holes to 3/8" and replace the pin with a larger one. Most have also added a 90° Zerk at the same time. Re: How do I get the rear drums off my 70 PW 3/4 ton?

Guy in the video is uneducated, untrained and inexperienced. Proven by his reference to the parts as "doo dads", calling the wheel hub a "brake hub", failure to remove cone washers, failure to bend away the tab on the lock ring, comment that the axle nuts are "double nutted" (they're NOT!), apparen...

Re: Overheating, homework first....

I acquired a truck that ran great, but overheated immediately. The lower rad hose was plugged solid at the water pump by a massive glob of waxy gunk that appeared to be from the coolant reacting with rubber, aluminum, or maybe some sort of stop leak compound as the truck sat for several yrs. Seen t...

Re: total electrical failure

Check the 12 ga. (black probably) wire (main alternator power line to amp) at the firewall bulkhead connector for corrosion or burnt connector (both sides of the connector). I'd go with Earl's and Txas2step's comments also. Your main power line(12 ga.) maybe grounding against something before it eve...

Re: What 318s will work in a sweptline?

Hola Hachey In order to under-stand what you have --- think of this: The 1958 - 1966 A-318 ( this is your Engine ) has items that were used in later MoPar Small Block V8's ( LA-273's, LA-318's, LA-340's and The LA-360's ). Some of the quick items for all of the above are The Oil Pump, Valve Springs...

Hey all. Does anyone have a good source for a replacement steering box for my 1964 D100? Btw my box is stock and really a lot of unsafe play in it. Fully...

Re: Door Jack

You could use a cherry picker or a floor jack, I've used a floor jack on my Challenger(150 lbs.+ doors) and did it by myself. You only need to get one hinge bolt to hold it on then put the rest of the bolts in the door hinges. With the window frame on our trucks, I'd use a cherry picker.

Re: high oil pressure, blowing oil out dip stick tube.

The only thing I can chalk it up to is not having a pcv valve. I have two oil breather caps but who knows. :thinking If you have both breathers teeing into the vacuum port of the carb, you need an air inlet somewhere (PVC) to draw the vapors though the block. Only run vacuum to one breather and lea...
