Re: Saw this and am interested!!

I am restoring my deceased fathers d200, I believe. I am wanting to make a monster motor, but have never actually built one from scratch. Any help would be appreciated. My concern is stuff like cams and crankshafts, the inner components. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKO2x4kmLZc&feature=related Si...

Behr Ultra Premium Ultra primer/color mixed, ultra, ultra premium ultra. I'll have to get a picture of it, but I swear it has premium and ultra in the name at least a dozen times. LOL! Color is called Cinnamon Stick IIRC. Looks like satin once it dries, even though it's semi-gloss. Now every time I ...

Re: THE WORST CAR YOU HAVE EVER OWNED

Mine was a 1975 Chevy Monza. Bought it for the motor really. The most starts I got from a starter was 3. :censored And that's if I was in town. Once I got on the freeway, don't shut it off unless you have a new starter in your hands. :banghead Factory heat shields were in place and everything! :cens...

Excess paint solution?

While my friend Thomas was over finishing the touchup painting the doors on our house, I was hard at work out in the garage and side yard. When the painting was done, I rolled the roller on the side of the utility trailer out of curiosity mainly, but also to clear out the roller. To my amazement, it...

Re: rear fender notched for spare?

As I recall, the Uteline beds were used from the late 50's until they quit building them in the late 80's I think. The only changes I know of were in 72 or so when they went to the frame mounted gas tanks. The bed has a dimple in the driver's side of it, to clear the fuel filler neck. The early beds...

Looks in good shape for a farm truck! :Thumbsup I'd go tribute truck if it were me. Kinda leaning that way with mine. I'll be driving mine every day and using it, although I may not be hauling rocks in it. Love the color, it's my favorite! :Thumbsup

Re: brand x engines in mopars

It can be annoying to see everything with a Chevy 350 in it. If you have the money to build a nice vehicle with no expenses spared I would think there would be many good engines to choose from. Now if you are a regular guy building a budget minded vehicle I can see using the 350 since it is a decen...

Yeah, I'm really interested in this thread too. I've never seen a blower on a slant, but I've often wondered how they might respond to one. :Thumbsup Food for thought: When I saw your pictures, my first thought was to make an intake and tip the blower on it's side, and lower it down, to clear the ho...

Re: Picked up the new heart today

What Trey said. I definitely wouldn't open the engine up if it runs good and maintains that much oil pressure at idle. About the only thing I would do would be to rock the crank back and forth to feel if there's any slack in the timing chain. If there's slack it's easy to replace while the engine i...

I've always wanted to build one. Until some pictures of them started popping up on here, I never knew they existed. Love to just get my hands on a body shell if nothing else. I'll get the rest of it. :Thumbsup

I like the look! It took me a minute or two to figure out that the exhaust tips are what's coming out of the spot where the backup lights once were. :Thumbsup Did you have to enlarge those holes to do it?

Re: Picked up the new heart today

**** UPDATE! **** Time for an update. Friday I picked up the 50,000 mile 360 from my "parts guy", along with the trans from the motorhome. I believe that it was a 77, but not sure. I'll have to find the numbers on the block to be sure. I also got the Dana 70 dualie rear (with springs) from the othe...

Re: Should I do it???

Because it's 4wd, I'd just swap your old body to the new frame. The big issue with the frame swap is the 4" longer wheelbase, and the higher rise in the frame out back. For 2wd trucks, it makes the bed sit higher than most people want, but for a 4wd, a little body lift built in won't hurt. As for th...

Re: Lifting the front end wihout alot of $?

My 67 has 285-75-17's on it. If it was lifted it came that way? It kinda looks lifted from the angle in this shot, but after looking at my own PW, with stock springs, maybe not. As I look at how far below the bottom of the body that the top of the axle is, it seems to match my truck. When I got the...

Re: Picked up the new heart today

so why is 20psi bad at idle?? you only need 10psi for every 1000rpm for proper oiling. not to mention its on the stock electric gauge. before i did any tearing it apart i would stick a mechanical gauge on it and see what shes doing. I've been thinking about the same thing the last few days. I like ...

Re: How Did You Get Into Dodges and When?

I kinda grew up in the MoPar world, based on my dad's experiences. He was a Studebaker mechanic, learning his trade in high school. In his younger years, he had lots of different brands and models of cars. Some that we could retire to a private island if we still had them now and sold one. :pale The...
