Re: 440 - Recommended replacement carb
Chad
My '66 Le Baron came with an 660 CFM Carter Carburator
( square bore ).
If it was my choice to swap carbs I would look for an 700'ish
Elderbrock with the Vac Secondary Design. It is a lic copy of
the Carter AVS - with The Electric Choke ( spread bore ).

Re: fan shroud
Sir Even though The Fan Shrould appears if it was designed by the local High School Drafting Class and then made by their Metal Class, the reason is to have the Air Flow Channeled through the Radiator. The end result is more CFM's cool the Engine. In years to follow, every MoPar had this item. The s...

Re: 360vs318?
Hola There If you get the 360 you will need to get an 360 Oil Pan that has The Slump in the same location as your 1969 LA-318's ( Car's are at one location and Truck/ Van's are at their location ). The Exhaust Ports of the LA-360 have an demention that is different than any LA-273, LA-318 or LA-340....

Re: seized?
Hello - Hello I've been curiest to know if your "seized enginge" is still seized. If it is a very low costing replacement is the 1978-1972 400. It does not matter if it came from The Car Division or an Truck Division. Use your Truck 383 Oil Pan Assembly and The Truck Exhaust Manifolds so that you ha...

Re: seized?
Sir Many times in the sweating process what started as an drop-let of moisture turns into more water than you need. Open and drain the Oil in The Oil Pan before you try to pump what could be water into the engine. Refill with some low costing anything thin oil. Also pour some of the lowest priced Tr...

Re: electric cooling fans
Kay It is your vehicle and you may do just about what you want to do with it. But ... if you take any vehicle to the local drag stip in Gainesville or where ever, you soon learn they do not care for flex fans because of their safety history. It is the volumne of air ( aka CFM's ) passing through The...

Re: electric cooling fans
Tyler After three days of not seeing any replies. I'll start with why do you want an Electric Unit ??? If done properly your Electric Charging System will need some enhancing to accept the new added draw. After 20 -15 MPH the Electric Fan is an mute $$$ any way. An flex fan is just as bad. Add an Fa...

Re: Low compression 440 with Closed Chamber Head
Jimmy I will be "the voice of reason" with you. After 1972 the power data is all True Data ( meaning with all items connected and drawing power from what the engine is producing - not empty fly-wheel recordings as before ). It is cheaper to repair your worn Heads than to purchase another design year...

Re: 1969 D200 318 general engine question
Jim You asked for some "General LA-318 Information". In the way it is worded it makes me think you are seeking some Power Enhancement Information for your 1969 LA-318. If this is correct look at the following. The Cam Shaft Go to NAPA an ask for the 1985'ish Dodge Truck LA-318 Cam Shaft. This cam is...

Re: 1969 D200 318 general engine question
Jim If you purchase the #22-599 Muffler/ Resonator from Napa, then have your local muffler shop install it using the same inside diameter of Exhaust Pipe from The Exhaust Manifold to the dual inlet unit. From The Unit's single out-let use the diameter of Exhaust Pipe that fits for The Tail Pipe. Thi...

Re: 1969 D200 318 general engine question
Jim Pages of past testing and etc have shown your Exhaust Manifolds are good to "red-line" of the LA-340 or LA-360's. The same data will show you that an honest 325 plus HP has been recorded with them. Use the same inside diameter from The Exhaust Manifold to The Muffler. Rodger & Gabby FltSgt@msn.c...

Re: Exhaust crossover pipe
John
Any non National Exhaust place that has an rack of
pipes and the bending machine can do the deed.
Hint
Keep the inside diameter of the pipe the same as the
Exhaust Manifolds to the new muffler.

Re: 318 Poly valve guide seals
John Think of it as "shoe laces". If one is bad it is time to purchase some more. Any local NAPA is the best start. Their part number is SS-700-14. ****************************************************************** It is also the same part number for any LA-273, LA-318, LA-340 or LA-360. MoPar used ...

Re: general tire size??
Sir
The 235 x 35 x 15's is just as already said.
When you look at the Weight Load Limit of these tires
you see they will not act as an rolling water bed ( this
is what it feels like with 50's or 60's and any thing
in the bed or pulling an trailer ).

Re: What axle should I start looking for?
Brady The "average" ( must used) ration in the 1970 D100's ( D = 2 Wheel Drive ) is the 3.55:1's . At your local pick & pull they can be found in like era Dodge Van's. The New Yorker ratio is 2.7 and your truck will perform like an cat coughing up a hair ball if you load more than a camping tent or ...

Sir
What does the local NAPA offer in item selection and cost ?
The OEM unit was the same number for any version
and remember too all shocks have a "Shelf Life".

Re: REar axle question?

Other than this, I'll still stick to what was said ... " 8 3/4 and 3.55:1 ". I also agree that it has been some time since 1960 and the hints of ...

Paul
The 1969 D100's came with The 8 3/4 Rear Axle.
For The D100's the basic OEM Ratio seemed to be 3.55:1 .
