I have a 68 d200 with a 383. Its sounds like no one has found any headers, not even shortys, if i read everything correct. If there is nothing, im just gonna dual it out the back. Just thought id ask in case i missed somethin.

I dont think the lower compression ratio was used until 70, i may be wrong but i think im safe there.

I think the block is the same size. Just the bore and/or stroke was increased. There is alot more stuff bolted onto the motor though. Dont remember, been awhile since ive read much on the 6.7

can I take the valve out of the exhaust?

The 40 year old original exhaust is gettin pretty thin, so im thinkin about doin a dual set up. Im gonna leave the factory exhaust manifolds, but when i run new tube can i just leave the valve on the exhast off or try and rebuild it onto the new pipe? I live in Texas and last year it only get below ...

need help with engine casting number

The id plate says 383, which is what its supposed to have, but i cant seem to find this casting number on any site. 2468130 Its a 68 d200. Also either the motor has been painted or replaced since it now orange instead of the turquoues gray that bb usually are. My great grandfather did build race car...

ill prob just leave the stock exhaust from the manifolds to the y then if its in good enough shape. Might go with 2 1/2 or 3in after that into a flow or glass pack.

Its a 2wd with only 39k on it. needs some work from sitting, but it runs and drives awsome. Just waitin on a carb kit since it was loadin up after youd drive it for a while.

I have a 1968 d200 with the 383. The drivers side exhaust runs around in front of the motor. Is this factory or somethin my great grandfather did when it was his. Also, did they come with powersteering in 68 or is that AM. If i buy headers will they run the exhuast normally, and what headers fit bes...
